New Music Tuesday

Dum Dum Girls

Their earlier album 'I Will Be' was more raw and full of shoe gazing guitars with a splash of 60's pop to it.  On their next album 'Only in Dreams' they changed their sound a little bit and it became a little more poppy.  With their new album 'Too True', they've evolved even further and have a more clean, dream pop sound, similar to The Cure and Stone Roses.  Although there are a few songs that still have the fuzzy, distorted guitar riffs.  They actually sound fairly close to their former band mate Frankie Rose, whom I love.  They definitely have shifted from the 60's to the 80's.  Although I enjoy their earlier work, I think its been a step in the right direction.
Big hits on the album are 'Rimbaud Eyes' and 'Lost Boys and Girls Club', but I also really like the songs 'Evil Blooms' and 'In the Wake Of You' and feel like they deserve some exposure so here they are.  Enjoy!
